Having started off early in PC then Lan administration, and at one time becoming a part time adjunct instructor at a college for NT 4.0 LAN Technologies, Steve crossed the line into development just before Y2K was supposed to make our lives easier by taking all of these nasty computers away. Seeing that this was not the case, and money was still needed, he continued deeper into Microsoft development, eventually adding the MCSD .NET (C#) and MCDBA (SQL 2000) to his previous MCSE (1997, NT 4.0). He worked with SharePoint 2003, BizTalk 2004 and 2006 (then finally BT02, icky), always preferring Middleware development, but being surprised by the number of SmartClient jobs he was called into. But when SharePoint 2007 came along, he was hooked. Immediately diving into side development, then independent consulting in SP07, he took a few classes from the Microsoft recognized MAN himself, Ted Pattison (and crew). In August of 2008 Steve decided to put himself to the test and scored one question short of perfect in the exam 70-541, WSS 3.0 Apps Dev. Today Steve can be "found" working for an employer, often for his Church and it's School as needed, and may be open to remote development or even a small amount of travel from home in Tampa Florida, where he lives with his family and 12 or more small to large parrots he rescues, but can never then get rid of. He continues to write in the service of those developers who are also tired of documentation that is "factually correct but utterly useless", with a certain industry acknowledgment in his site. Today he make all efforts to return messages to peers of all levels, admits fault and learns as needed, and is usually found working on another project, article, blog or parrot in need. |
